Alfred Kahwa I’m from Tanzania in East Africa, but I’ve been in Canada for five years. In my final semester as a sociology major at TRU, I enjoy helping people and empowering the community in various ways. I currently work as a community support worker for a company that operates residential homes and a day program. I genuinely enjoy my job because it allows me to positively impact the community and physically assist someone who needs help to improve their life, which is more valuable to me than money and makes me happy.

This is Mohammadhosein, a TRU journalism student and a literature enthusiast with an endless passion to help those in need. My primary focus here is on what an international student can expect coming to this university, especially as someone who strives to build a future and become a productive member of the Kamloops community. If what I write makes you feel informed, understood, or a little more at home, then I have done my job.
